Welcome to the TCG section of Dolce and Vita - this is one of the newest sections I have, so it's gonna look pretty bad for a while....

But for now, let's index what's gonna be on here...

TABLE OF CONTENTS (I've never done this before... I feel so important!

- Battle Spirits
- Pokemon TCG Pocket

- Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL
- Japanese TCGs and my opinion on them

Japanese TCGs (and my opinion on them)

For inadequately explained reasons, one day I decided to learn more about what TCGs are currently active in Japan (that is to say, the ones based out of there. MTG is played there too and even has a manga recently released about it). The research was... interesting. Enlightening. Maybe a little disturbing? But here's what's out there and what they're about, listed in ABC-order:

Battle Spirits

Released in 2008 by Bandai. A western release lasted 2 years before being closed. A re-release, as 'Battle Spirits Saga' and distributed by Bandai Namco, was attempted in 2023. As of now, the game is only available in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Spanning multiple media, Battle Spirits also has 6 video games, 10 anime series

Cardfight!! Vanguard

Released in 2011 by Bushiroad. Released in Thailand, Korea, and the US in 2011, and in Italy in 2016.

Shadowverse: Evolve

Based on the digital CCG by Cygames. The first boosters were released in the west in summer 2023. As of now, 6 of the 7 (8?9?) classes are available.

I actually have a pretty positive opinion of this game (even though many dismissed it as 'weeaboo Hearthstone'), so I'm not against the idea behind bringing the game into the physical realm.

And, because I have a brand to maintain... Hey! Let's Play!

Z/X - Zillions of Enemy X

Released in 2012 as a collaboration between Broccoli and Nippon Ichi Software. No western release has been announced for this game.

Ok, let me first talk about what I like about this game: they give away a lot of free cards, making it easy to make a competitive deck.
